First Lady of Maldives, Sajidha Mohammed has praised India’s initiatives on Food Safety at the grassroots level. During her visit to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) headquarters in New Delhi today, the first lady apprised of the laboratory ecosystems established by FSSAI to ensure the highest standards of food safety across the nation.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in a statement said that the first lady discussed key aspects of food safety standards and regulatory frameworks with India’s contact point for the Codex Alimentarius Commission. It also added that a brief demonstration was arranged for Food Safety on Wheels, a mobile food-testing laboratory that serves as a critical tool for conducting on-the-spot food safety tests.
