WAVES platform will empower new-age creators across sectors: I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has said that the world is already witnessing economic and political rebalancing and now moving to its technology and cultural facets. He highlighted how India is driving a content revolution, blending tradition with technology to shape global storytelling. He was addressing a session in New Delhi this evening on World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit WAVES which will be hosted in Mumbai in May this year. Dr Jaishankar said, real globalisation is not about a single narrative or one truth; it is about capturing the enormous diversity of the people in the planet. He said that storytelling and entertainment have always shaped society’s self-image and culture, influencing how it is nurtured and passed to future generations.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, this platform is for new-age creators who come from all walks of life to be able to create something of very high value. Mr Vaishnaw said, that is the basic concept of WAVES. He said,
the world is rapidly changing and India has a very unique position. He said, the country has more than a billion people who have access to mobile phones and people have adopted to digitalisation.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan said that WAVES is a global platform for synergetic approach on rising media and entertainment sector. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, WAVES platform represents a vital step towards shaping the future of media and entertainment on a global scale.
