A fire broke out in the endoscopy room on the second floor of the old OPD building at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences-AIIMS New Delhi on Monday (07 August 2023). All patients were safely evacuated timely and no casualties and injuries were reported.

AIIMS administration in a statement said that at around 11:35 AM, information was received of a fire incident and the fire was controlled immediately by AllMS Fire services as well as Delhi fire Services. AIIMS said that all patients in the ward and emergency area were shifted to other areas. All the efforts are being made to bring back normalcy in medical services at the earliest.
