A sudden fire broke out today in the late afternoon at National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) North Karanpura located in Tandwa area of Chatra district of Jharkhand. The fire that broke out in the yard number 7 of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) at NTPC North Karanpura complex has been brought under control after almost 2 hours of efforts with the help of 8 fire-engines. Meanwhile, the cause of sudden fire could not be traced at the incident site. Officials of the power-plant and fire-services have controlled the fire now. According to eye-witnesses, the wires kept in yard number 7 of BHEL at the plant suddenly caught fire. No official statement has been given by NTPC officials regarding the fire-incident.
