Filmmaker Madhura Jasraj, the wife of renowned classical vocalist the late Pandit Jasraj and the daughter of legendary film personality V. Shantaram, passed away this morning at her home. She was 86 years old and had been suffering from age-related health issues. Her last rites will be conducted at the Oshiwara crematorium. Madhura Jasraj was an accomplished writer, filmmaker, producer, and choreographer. She is best known for her acclaimed documentary ‘Sangeet Martanda Pandit Jasraj’ (2009) and for writing a biography of her father, the celebrated filmmaker V. Shantaram. In 2010, Madhura Jasraj directed her first Marathi film ‘Aai Tujha Aashirwad’ and made history as the oldest debutant director in a feature film, earning a place in the Limca Book of Records.
