Extreme weather conditions prevail in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra

Extreme weather conditions prevailed today in some parts of the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Washim and Yavatmal districts are under a red alert due to severe weather conditions, while Buldhana, Akola, Wardha, and Nagpur are under an orange alert. Heavy rainfall and potential flooding are expected. Since this morning, heavy rain has been pouring down in Washim district. This caused a landslide in the Khambhala Ghat area, leading to the closure of the Washim-Pusad route and resulting in disruptions of transportation services. Reports of flooding in crop fields and loss of livestock have been reported.

A red alert has been issued by the weather office for tomorrow in Amravati district. Additionally, many districts in the Vidarbha region will be under a yellow alert.

District administrations are closely monitoring the developing weather conditions and are prepared for necessary mitigation efforts.
