The first meeting of the High-Level Committee of Experts constituted by the Ministry of Education to ensure transparent, smooth, and fair conduct of examinations through the National Testing Agency (NTA), which was held yesterday. Speaking to the media in New Delhi, the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, said that the priority of the committee is to elicit concerns and suggestions from the students and parents, for which the committee will engage with them. Dr. Radhakrishnan said the committee is also looking at developing a robust and tamperproof system, aiming to lessen the difficulties and stress of the students.
Our correspondent reports that recently the government constituted a seven-member committee headed by former ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan. It has been tasked with recommending reforms in the examination process of the NTA to enhance efficiency and prevent breaches, improve data security protocols, and review the structure and functioning of the agency. The panel will evaluate existing processes, suggest improvements, and define clear roles and responsibilities within the NTA. The committee will also assess the current grievance redressal mechanisms and propose enhancements. The committee has been given two months to submit its report to the Ministry of Education.
