The Centre has said the estimated number of living Aadhaar number holders is over 130.20 crore across the country till last month. This is after adjusting for the estimated number of deaths. This information was given by Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Lok Sabha. 

In a written reply, he said over 63 thousand Aadhaar centres are operational across the country. The facility of enrolment of children below the age of five years is available through around 28 thousand hand-held mobiles and tablets operated by postmen and hospital staff. The minister said every resident who undergoes the enrolment process by submitting the requisite information is issued an Aadhaar number, irrespective of whether he or she has hands or clear fingerprints.
