Labour and Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya today announced that the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has reached a significant milestone by surpassing 5 crore claim settlements in the financial year 2024-25, exceeding the 4.45 crore claims settled in the previous year. Dr. Mandaviya attributed this achievement to a series of transformative reforms introduced by EPFO to streamline the claim settlement process and reduce member grievances. The minister also highlighted that auto claim settlements have doubled to 1.87 crore in the current financial year, compared to 89.52 lakh claims processed throughout FY 2023-24.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment, in a statement, said that now only 8 percent of transfer claims require member and employer attestation, with the introduction of a simplified transfer claim application. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing the ease of access for EPFO members, Dr. Mandaviya highlighted that the organisation will continue to leverage technology and process simplification to ensure a seamless and efficient service experience.
