Encroachment of Railways land is delaying timely execution of train station project at Dimapur: NFR General Manager

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava said that Encroachment of Railways land is delaying the timely execution of the train station project at Dimapur. Mr. Srivastava was on a trail inspection of Amrit Bharat scheme from Kamakhya to Dimapur.
 
Srivastava said the centre has sanctioned 280 crore rupees for the development of the Dimapur Railway station into a world class station and appealed for cooperation from all so that works can be carried out without hindrance.
 
He added, the state government has been apprised on the land encroachment issue.
 
The effort of the state government is going positive as it has constituted a High Power Committee to study the matter and submit its report, the NFR General Manager said.
 
Srivastava expressed hope that by 2026, Kohima, the capital of Nagaland will be connected with railways as it is an ambitious plan of the Centre to connect all the capitals of North east states.
 
Divisional Railway Manager, Lumding, Prem Ranjan Kumar remarked on the state government's role to clear illegal settlers from Railways land. Kumar said the issue was also raised during the recent visit of the Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh, following which the government has set up a High Powered Committee tasked with identifying encroachers.
