In Jammu and Kashmir, three terrorists have been killed in two separate encounters in anti-infiltration operations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. According to the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, one encounter took place in Machil sector and another in the Tangdhar sector.
Director General of Police of the Jammu and Kashmir Police RR Swain told Akashvani news that one terrorist was killed in Tangdhar sector and two terrorists were gunned down in the Machil sector.
Another encounter broke out in in the Lathi village of Rajouri district between security forces and terrorists last night after troops launched a cordon and search operation suspecting a militant movement. Two to three terrorists are holed up in the area and additional forces have been rushed to the area to strengthen the cordon and search operation.
Officials said, due to inclement weather the operation has been hampered and will continue after the weather improves.
