Uttar Pradesh LS Polls: 64 constituencies declare results; BJP wins 28 seats, Samajwadi Party 27 and Congress Six

In Uttar Pradesh, result of 59 constituencies has been declared. BJP has won 25 seats, Samajwadi Party 25 and Congress Six. Rashtriya Lok Dal-RLD, Apna Dal (Soneylal)-ADAL and Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram)-ASPKR have won one seat each.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has won from Varanasi defeating Ajay Rai of Congress by a margin of more than 1 lakh 50 thousand votes.

 

Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi has been declared elected from Rae Bareli seat defeating BJP rival Dinesh Pratap Singh by a margin of over 3 lakh 90 thousand votes.

 

Other Prominent winners of BJP include Rajnath Singh from Lucknow, Dr. Mahesh Sharma from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Jitin Prasad from Pilibhit, Swami Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi form Unnao, Arun Govil from Meerut, Hema Malini from Mathura and Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur. Smriti Irani of BJP has lost to Kishori Lal of Congress in Amethi and Ajay Kumar of BJP to Utkarsh Verma ‘Madhur’ of Samajwadi Party in Kheri. Menka Gandhi of BJP has also lost to Rambhual Nishad of Samajwadi Party by a margin of over 43 thousand votes in Sultanpur constituency.

 

Dimpal Yadav of Samajwadi Party has been declared elected from Mainpuri Constituency defeating Jayveer Singh of BJP by a margin of over 2 lakh 20 thousand votes. Chandrashekhar of ASPKR has won from Nagina Constituency.

 

As per the latest trends, BJP is leading in 8 seats, Samajwadi Party 12 and Rashtriya Lok Dal one seat. Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party is leading by more than 1 lakh 70 thousand in kannauj.
