Elections 2024: BJP MP Hema Malini files nomination papers from Mathura Lok Sabha seat

On the last day of submitting nominations for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, BJP MP Hema Malini filed her nomination papers from the Mathura Lok Sabha seat. Malini, who was elected MP from Mathura in the 2014 and 2019 General Elections, was named the BJP candidate for the third consecutive time. State Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh was also present while filing the nomination papers. Mukesh Dhangar from Congress and Suresh Singh from BSP have already filed nominations for this seat. In Meerut, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav changed the candidate for the third time and gave the ticket to former mayor Sunita Verma in place of Atul Pradhan. Sunita Verma filed the nomination today. BJP candidate Arun Govil and BSP candidate Devvrat Tyagi have already filed nominations for this seat. Eight parliamentary constituencies in Uttar Pradesh- Amorha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautambuddha Nagar, Bulandshahr (SC), Aligarh, and Mathura will vote in the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls on the 26th of  April.
