1,84,804 electors are eligible to exercise the right to franchise. Ladakh is one of the notable constituencies in the country as it is the largest in terms of area with remote locations and difficult terrain.

The administration has set up 579 Polling Stations which also includes a polling station for five electors of a family at Warshi village near Siachen Glacier base Camp and Anley Phu near Indo- China Border at an altitude of 15520 feet.

Till 1967, Ladakh was part of the Ganderbal Parliamentary Constituency, and after delimitation, thirteen general elections are held so for this lone seat. The ongoing election is the 14th General Election.
