Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across the country today. The festival marks the culmination of the fasting month of Ramzan.
The faithfuls dressed in their best offered Eid prayers in Eidgahs and grand mosques. Later, they exchanged Eid greetings. The people are visiting their relatives and loved ones, exchanging sweets and greeting each other.
In Delhi, main Eid congregations were held at Jama Masjid, Fatehpuri Masjid and Shahi Eidgah. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the occasion.
President and Vice President have greeted the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. In her message, the President highlighted that Eid-ul-Fitr marks the conclusion of fasting and prayer during the holy month of Ramadan.
She emphasized that this festival reinforces the spirit of brotherhood, cooperation, and compassion. The President expressed hope that the festival would bring peace, progress, and happiness to all, and provide the strength to move forward with a positive attitude.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said that Eid serves as a reminder of the strength drawn from cultural diversity and the common bonds that unite individuals. He expressed hope that the spirit of Eid would inspire individuals to recommit to the values that guide the nation’s path forward and unite people as one remarkable, resilient nation.
In Jammu & Kashmir, the Eid ul Fitr is being celebrated today. The Shawwal (first day of Islamic month Shawwal) crescent was sighted across Jammu & Kashmir last evening. The Grand Mufti, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam confirmed the sighting of Shawwal moon, marking the end of holy month of Ramadhan.

Markets in Srinagar and elsewhere in Jammu & Kashmir saw a surge in shopping as general people were seen purchasing sweets, clothing, and gifts.
On this occasion, people visit friends and relatives. Children receive cash gifts called “Eidee” from their parents and elders that makes them happy. J&K Waqf Board confirmed that the largest gathering of Eid prayers will be held at Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar outskirts.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Cabinet Ministers and other prominent personalities have extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Eid Ul Fitr.
In Telangana, Eid-Ul-Fitr is being celebrated with gaiety and religious fervour across the State. Special prayers have been organised at all Eidgahs and mosques across the state.
The largest gathering was witnessed at the Eidgah Mir Alam in Hyderabad, where thousands of people congregated for the special prayers.
Huge gatherings were also seen at the Mecca Masjid near the historic Charminar, Eidgah Madannapet, Masab Tank Hockey Grounds, Eidgah at First Lancer among others.
Dressed in festive attire, elders and children gathered at the Eidgahs and mosques in the early hours to attend the prayers. After the prayers concluded they greeted each other and extended their wishes. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy extended Eid wishes to people.
A festive atmosphere prevailed in Hyderabad as families are heading to meet their relatives and well-wishers to extend the Eid greetings. The guests are being treated with the ‘sheerkurma’ and ‘biryani’.
In Uttar Pradesh, Eid is being celebrated with enthusiasm across the state. Since early morning, worshippers visited mosques for prayers marking the festival, which symbolises unity, peace and brotherhood. Akashvani correspondent reports
Special Eid prayers were offered across the state today, with no untoward incident being reported from anywhere. Governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath extended Eid greetings to the people.

Lucknow Police used special AI drones to monitor the crowd coming to celebrate Eid-Al-Fitr in mosques.

In Punjab, Eid is being celebrated across the state with religious fervor and gaiety. Devotees visited mosques at various places including Malerkotla, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sri Mukatsar Sahib and Hoshiarpur and prayed for peace and prosperity of the state.
The festival is also being celebrated at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s international headquarters at Qadian, in Gurdaspur.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann who paid obeisance at the Idgah in the historic city of Malerkotla, besides talking about some developmental projects also announced the construction of a medical college with the major contribution from the Centre.
In Kerala, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and devotion throughout the state. Led by Imams, thousands gathered at Idgahs and open grounds to offer namaz.
