Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across Jammu region

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across Jammu region. The festival marks the culmination of the holy fasting month of Ramzan. Eid prayers were offered throughout Jammu and Kashmir and no report of any untoward incident has come from anywhere. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and former CM Farooq Abdullah were among the devotees who participated in the prayers at Hazratbal Shrine, Srinagar. In Jammu, the largest congregation took place at the Eidgah ground, where hundreds of Muslims gathered to offer prayers. The celebrations saw children accompanying their fathers, dressed in new clothes, reflecting their joy for the occasion. The occasion also showcased communal harmony, as Hindu and Sikh friends joined in to extend greetings to their Muslim neighbors. Eid prayers were also offered at various other places in Jammu city including Sidhra, Bathindi, Dogiana, Malik Market, Talab Khatikan, Karyani Talab, Sunjwan, Mohalla Ustad, Channi, Kunjwani, Gole Market Gandhinagar, New Plot and Janipur. Scenes of communal harmony were noticed at various other places in the Jammu division, including Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur, Samba and Kathua. Authorities had made adequate arrangements of security and sanitation at various prayer grounds to ensure that the devotees did not face any inconvenience while offering their prayers. Later, people are visiting their relatives and loved ones, exchanging sweets and greeting each other.
