EC team to visit Jharkhand for two-day tour to review election preparedness in state

A six-member election commission team, headed by Senior Deputy Election Commissioners Nitesh Vyas and Dharmendra Sharma, is reaching Ranchi this evening for a two-day tour to Jharkhand to review election preparedness in the state. Jharkhand assembly election is due to be held later this year.

 

The election commission team will hold a meeting with Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer and other election officials today. The team will discuss with DMs and SPs of different districts of the state tomorrow. The revision of the electoral roll is underway in the state which started on 25th June and will conclude on 24th July. The voter list will be published on 20th August. Youths who have completed 18 years of age, considering July 1 as the eligibility date, will also be added to the voter list. During the revision, the names of duplicate and dead people will be deleted from the electoral list.
