The Election Commission (EC) has issued no-objection certificate for the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) elections of mayor and deputy-mayor posts, to be held in the national capital Delhi tomorrow. In a letter EC said, the commission does not have any objection to the MCD election scheduled for tomorrow. The MCD had sought permission from the election commission as the model code of conduct is in force due to the ongoing Lok Sabha polls in the country.

Aam Aadmi Party has nominated Mahesh Khichi for mayor and Ravinder Kumar for deputy mayor post of MCD elections, while BJP has fielded Kishan Lal for mayor and Neeta Bisht for deputy mayor posts. The post of mayor is reserved for Scheduled Caste in this election.
