The Election Commission today stopped the result announcements of the ongoing recruitment process in Haryana until the completion of Assembly Elections in the state. The Commission took cognizance of the complaint received from Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, regarding alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct in the process of recruitment against five thousand 600 vacancies for the post of Constable in the Haryana Police and recruitment for various posts by Haryana Public Service Commission.
The Commission had sought a detailed report from the State Government and found that 600 posts of Female Constables and four thousand posts of Male Constables were requisitioned and uploaded on the HSSC portal on 3rd July and one thousand posts of Male Constable IRB were requisitioned and uploaded on the HSSC portal on 9th of July. The Commission said, it is amply clear that the selection process was initiated and necessary communications were sent by State Government to concerned statutory authorities much before date of enforcement of model code of conduct. It said, statutory authorities have also started process including advertisement before the enforcement of MCC. The poll body said, as per its instruction, there is no bar for continuing regular recruitment process by the UPSC, State PSC or Staff Selection Commission or any statutory authority. It said, there is no violation of Model Code of Conduct. The Commission said, in order to maintain level playing field and to ensure that no undue advantage is accrued to anyone the Commission directed the state Government not to declare the result till completion of elections.
Elections to the 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana will be held in a single phase on 1st of October and the counting of votes will take place on 4th of October.
