The East Central Railway is operating 446 special trains over the next 15 days to manage the return rush of passengers from Bihar after the Chhath Puja celebrations.

These special services began yesterday to facilitate the journey of passengers heading back to various cities across the country. Talking to Akashvani News, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra said, this year, more than 70 additional trains are running compared to last year to handle the increased demand.

Mr. Chandra said, to ensure smooth crowd management at stations, the railway has set up holding areas at key locations, including Patna, Danapur, Rajendra Nagar, Samastipur, and other major stations. He said, these measures are aimed at preventing overcrowding on platforms and avoiding stampede-like situations.

The CPRO also noted that, in addition to major stations in New Delhi and Anand Vihar in North India, East Central Railway is operating numerous trains for cities in Western and Southern India to accommodate the returning passengers.
