External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar stated that Arbitrate in India is a key facet of Make In India and arbitration will help in the journey for a Viksit Bharat. Inaugurating the Arbitration Bar of India at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday, Dr Jaishankar said arbitration is recognised as cornerstone of modern dispute resolution. He said it is key for India in its rapid economic progress.

External Affairs Minister said this event is a marked redistribution of India’s power and influence in the world. He pointed out that global order has witnessed rebalancing and economic capabilities have re-emerged for India and its dimensions will naturally spread out more in the world.

In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said the Narendra Modi government recognizes the importance of high quality arbitration as it improves ease of doing business. He expressed confidence that today’s inauguration is one among the legal community’s many contributions towards a Viksit Bharat.
