Dubai’s Ramadan celebrations blend tradition with modernity

Dubai’s Ramadan festivities have transformed the city into a celebration that harmoniously combines cultural heritage with contemporary flair, creating an atmosphere of unity and joy during this sacred month. Iconic landmarks shine with elaborate illuminations, creating a magical atmosphere after sunset Traditional lanterns, crescent moons, and star motifs adorn buildings and public spaces, enhancing the festive ambience across the emirate. Popular destinations like Zabeel Park and Souk Al Bahar are now showcasing stunning Ramadan-themed decorations. Visitors enjoy live performances, interactive games, and traditional storytelling from Hakawati performers under the starlit sky.

 

In Karama, the Sheikh Hamdan Colony has become a food lover’s paradise during the special Ramadan Food Festival. More than 55 restaurants serve distinctive dishes ranging from local Emirati specialities to international favourites, all accompanied by live music and cultural performances. Meanwhile, Expo City Dubai is hosting ‘Hai Ramadan’ at Al Wasl Plaza until March 30th. This event offers immersive cultural activities including storytelling sessions and workshops for children. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of Iftar and Suhoor options in communal areas beneath the iconic dome.
