With an eye on the future, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted the importance of green fuel for India. Speaking at the Panchajanya Infrastructure Conclave in New Delhi on Wednesday (13 September 2023) evening, Mr. Gadkari said that the dream of farmers generating fossil fuel alternatives is no longer just a dream. He said, Bio-ethanol and green hydrogen are some of the green energy fuels created by farm wastes.
The Minister said, this brings down fuel imports, improves the environment, and boosts the rural economy. Mr. Gadkari also brought attention to India’s rising stature as an automobile manufacturer. Outpacing Japan, India is now the world's third-biggest automobile manufacturer and soon aims to be number one. He said, this would boost India’s exports, tax revenue for states and the nation, and generate employment.
