Department of Pharmaceuticals Secretary Arunish Chawla today emphasised on the need to raise the quality and competitiveness in domestic medi-tech sector. Addressing the Meditech Stackathon in New Delhi, Mr Chawla said that improving the quality of indigenously made medical equipment will not only provide world class facility to patients but also shrink the import bill in this sector. He highlighted that boosting exports is also a priority for the government.
Talking to media, Mr Chawla said that the key objective of this meet is to understand the medi-tech sector ecosystem for better policymaking.
The Meditech Stackathon 2024 is a one-day workshop that brings industry professionals, researchers and policymakers together to discuss the steps to improve India’s position and stake in the medi-tech sector.
