Dr. Balaji, working at the Kalaignar Centenary hospital at Guindy Chennai was attacked with knife by the son of a patient today. The doctor is said to be in a serious condition. The accused is said to have attacked the doctor thinking that the patient was prescribed the wrong medicine by him. The doctor is an Oncologist and is a heart patient. Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has ordered a detailed enquiry and assured strict action against the perpetrator and also has ordered stepping up security inside the hospital premises.  The accused Vignesh has been arrested. Following the incident, a section of the doctors have announced strike.
