DLSA Kargil Conducts Cleanliness Drive at District Court

In Ladakh, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kargil conducted a major cleanliness drive at the District Court Complex, Kargil, under the national campaign “Swachhata Hi Sewa-2024.” The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and hygiene in public spaces.

The event was led by Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil and Secretary of DLSA Kargil. Participants included members of the Bar, panel lawyers, Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC), court staff, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), and students from Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Baroo, and sanitation workers from the Municipal Committee (MC) Kargil.

The event kicked off with the “Swachhata Pledge,” where participants committed to dedicating two hours a week to cleanliness and vowed not to litter or allow others to litter. Following this, a thorough cleaning of the District Court Complex and its neighbouring areas, including up to the Iqbal Bridge, was carried out.

Students, carrying placards with slogans like “Clean Kargil,” “Green Kargil,” “Say No to Plastics,” and “Save Water, Save Future,” chanted slogans throughout the drive to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness.

Simultaneously, the TLSCs in Drass and Zanskar marked the occasion with similar cleanliness and awareness drives.
