In an effort to bolster democratic engagement and informed participation, the District SVEEP Team in Kargil organized a comprehensive Voters Awareness Forum at Inqilab Manzil. The event, attended by hundreds of government employees, aimed to equip them with essential knowledge and skills crucial for the upcoming general elections. Led by District SVEEP Nodal Officer Ghulam Rasool, the forum included informative sessions on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), and Election Commission of India (ECI) applications. The significance of Election Duty Certificate (EDC) was also emphasized, enhancing participants’ understanding of election processes and responsibilities.

On this occasion District Programme Officer ICDS Kargil Nargis Fatima, Kacho Ahmad Khan, Parveen Akhtar and Shabir Hussain Yabgo were present, highlighting the collaborative effort to promote voter awareness. The event concluded with a renewed commitment among attendees to uphold ethical voting practices and encourage mass participation. District Programme Officer Nargis Fatima administered an oath to the employees, emphasizing adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and ethical voting. As the nation prepares for the forthcoming elections, the success of the Voters Awareness Forum signifies collective efforts towards fostering a more informed and participative electorate in Kargil.
