Telangana State Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy today launched digital family health cards on a pilot basis in the state. The Chief Minister said these cards will provide benefits for health and ration for the eligible people in a family. The pilot project will be conducted till the 8th of this month across the state in selected blocks in each Assembly constituency. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said there has been a demand for ration cards from people for quite some time and the government is bringing digital cards containing information about all family members. Now people have been handed over cards for ration, health and farmers insurance separately and they are physical cards. Stating that it created confusion about who were beneficiaries of various schemes, he said the government has launched the family digital card for clubbing all requirements of a family. He further said this digital card will be One Card- One State on the lines of one nation-one ration.
The scheme will digitalise the process and bring all departments under one umbrella. He further said the digital card will address the requirements of a family including schemes under education and health. The Cards will also address people’s ration requirements where they could approach ration shops in their respective districts and get the required items after verification of the details.
