Dhaka and Paris today signed two bilateral instruments to enhance cooperation in different fields including infrastructure and satellite.  The documents were inked in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and France President Emmanuel Macron at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka. French president Emmanuel Macron has expressed France's unwavering commitment to support Bangladesh in its efforts to combat climate change.

Macron praised Bangladesh’s leadership in addressing the climate crisis, emphasising that Bangladesh could rely on France’s full support.

Earlier, Hasina and Macron held talks to explore new areas of cooperation between the two countries. In the morning, President Macron paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhaka. Macron, the first French president to visit Bangladesh in 33 years, arrived here in Dhaka on Sunday evening from India after attending the G20 summit in New Delhi. The French leader is scheduled to leave Dhaka at 2 pm today.

The Bangladesh Prime Minister said, "France has been a trusted development partner of Bangladesh since its independence and holds a special place in our hearts and imagination". Last night, Bangladesh's Prime Minister hosted a banquet in honor of the visiting President.  On the occasion, Mrs. Hasina expressed her confidence that France-Bangladesh bilateral relations can move to strategic engagements for the shared prosperity for all in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.

Yesterday night after attending a banquet hosted by Bangladesh Prime Minister, President  Macron visited popular music artist Rahul Ananda's studio in Dhaka where he spent around one and a half hours, during which Rahul Ananda performed for him.
