Directorate General of Civil Aviation, DGCA has approved 63 Remote Pilot Training Organisation for providing drone training and skilling. These training schools have certified more than five thousand 500 Remote Pilot Certificates so far. Minister of State for Civil Aviation V. K. Singh said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today. He said, government has notified the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Drones and Drone Components with an objective to incentivise manufacturing of drones and drone components in India. Mr Singh said, drone import policy has been notified in 2022, banning the import of foreign drones and freeing up import of drone components. He added that drone rules have been liberalized to facilitate wider application of drones.
