Haribodhini Ekadasi is a day when Lord Vishnu awakens from his four months of slumber. The Tulsi plant is worshipped on the occasion, and the Tulsi and Amla tree branches or Shaligram stones are unified by tying thread, indicating the unification of Vishnu and his consort, Lakshmi. This celebration indicates the deep connection between humans and nature. Devotees visit Vishnu temples like Budhanilkantha, Changunarayan and other popular Vishnu temples today in Kathmandu valley.
