Devotees from different parts of the country have gathered to offer prayers at Baba Baidyanathdham temple in Deoghar on the first Monday of holy month of Saawan. Baba Baidyanathdham is one out of the 12 jyotirlinga (ज्योतिर्लिंग) in the country. Our Correspondent reports that Long queues upto five kilometres of Kanwariyas (काँवरिया) are present for jalabhishek (जलाभिषेक) of Lord Shiva.

Akashvani Correspondent reports: On the first Monday of the holy month of Sawan, more than 1 lakh devotees will be offering Jal to Baba Baidyanath in Deoghar in the ongoing Shravani Mela. The premises of the temple were open since 3.55 am in morning for kanwariyas. Local administration and police are present for arrangements at Shivaganga and other holding points. Earlier in the morning at 3 am, special prayers with Kachajal and aarti were offered to Baba Baidyanath by the priests.
