In Women’s Singles of Denmark Open 2024 badminton tournament, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu advanced to pre-quarterfinals this evening. In her opening match of the tournament, she defeated Chinese Taipei’s Pai Yu Po at Arena Fyn in Odense. Sindhu won the match 21-8; 13-7 as midway through the second game Pai Yu Po decided to call it quits and retired from the game.

In first round of Men’s Singles match, the world number 19, Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen lost against the 17th ranked Lu Guang Zu of China 21-12, 19-21; 14-21 in Odense, the third largest city in Denmark. In women’s doubles, The Panda sisters, Rutaparna and Swetaparna, also lost their round of 32 match against the Chinese Taipei duo of Chang Ching Hui and Yang Ching Tun, 18-21; 22-24.
