The air quality in the national capital, Delhi has worsened to the Severe category, with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 433 as of 1 PM this afternoon. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, some areas of the city have breached the 400 AQI levels.
The AQI at Delhi’s Anand Vihar was recorded at 472, Punjabi Bagh at 468, Nehru Nagar at 476, Alipur at 467, Vivek Vihar at 473, Rohini at 475, and Patparganj at 459.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Delhi and the surrounding NCR are likely to experience smog and shallow fog during the night and morning hours over the next two days.
