Delhi University has dismissed a proposal to include Manusmriti in the LLB syllabus. Talking to the media in New Delhi, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan clarified that there is no endorsement of any such proposal in the Academic Council of the University. He said that he had inquired about the issue with DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh, who informed that the proposal had been rejected. The Minister added that the government is committed to upholding the Constitution and there is no question of including any controversial portion of any script.
