Delhi prepares to fight against Dengue this festival season

In Delhi, the Municipal Corporation has so far issued notices to 1.29 lakh houses on finding mosquito larvae, while 56,000 challans have been issued to check the spread of Dengue in the Capital. Nearly 5,000 municipal officials are going door-to-door to check mosquito larvae. People are being made aware through pamphlets and tippers. Nearly 2.85 crore places have been inspected for mosquito breeding detection. This year, larvae have been found at 2.40 lakh places across Delhi.

Action against vector-borne diseases has doubled this year. Special preparations have been made for religious festivals, where regular fogging will be done. Mosquito larvae are being destroyed with the help of larvae-eating fish, which have been released on a large scale in more than 200 reservoirs.
