Delhi: Political parties gearing up for upcoming assembly elections

BJP President JP Nadda today held a meeting with the party’s Delhi election management committee. The meeting, held in the national capital, was to fine-tune the party’s strategies for the assembly polls. It was attended by Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva, party in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda, and other senior leaders. Talking to the media after the meeting, Mr. Sachdeva said Mr. Nadda assessed the election preparations and gave suggestions. He accused the AAP of trying to register illegal voters in Delhi.
During his visit to the party’s Delhi office, Mr. Nadda inspected the miniature replica of the Delhi CM residence kept at the Delhi BJP office premises. The party has been accusing AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal of lavish spending on his residence as Delhi Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, AAP Senior leader Arvind Kejriwal today met the Election Commission in New Delhi, alleging that fake votes are being created by bringing people from other states. Mr. Kejriwal said that he has brought to the notice of the commission that 13 thousand applications have been added in the last 15 days. He alleged that BJP candidate from New Delhi Assembly constituency, Parvesh Verma, is organizing job camps and openly distributing money.
