Delhi Police have lodged an FIR against TMC MP Mahua Moitra for her social media comments against National Commission for Women chief Rekha Sharma. The TMC leader is charged under Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita following a complaint filed by the NCW chief. Previously, the NCW had taken suo moto notice of Ms. Moitra’s remarks, asserting that they were offensive and constituted a violation of a woman’s right to dignity.
