The air quality in Delhi-NCR has shown minor improvement with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 379 in the very poor category as of 1 pm today. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, some parts of the city have breached the 400 AQI levels. The AQI at Delhi’s Jahangirpuri station at 433, Wazirpur at 420, Rohini at 405, Patparganj at 390, IGI Airport at 368, ITO at 362, and JLN Stadium at 356.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Delhi and NCR are likely to experience smog and shallow fog during the night and morning hours over the next 2-3 days.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, and 301 and 400 very poor. An AQI between 401 and 450 is considered severe.
