The air quality in Delhi-NCR continues to remain in the poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s air quality index was recorded at 274 at 3:00 this afternoon. A thick layer of smog was witnessed over Delhi and NCR.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the air quality is likely to be in the very poor category tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. It said meteorological conditions are unfavourable for effective dispersion of pollutants as calm winds prevail during the night. An air quality index between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, and 301 and 400 very poor. An AQI between 401 and 450 is considered severe.
