Delhi HC grants protection from arrest to former trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar

The Delhi High Court granted protection from arrest to former trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar until 21st of August in fake identity case. The High Court directed the Delhi Police not to take her into custody until the next hearing date. Khedkar is accused of misrepresenting and falsifying facts in her application to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The Court also issued a notice to the Delhi police and the UPSC to reply, as to why her immediate custody is required. Earlier, on 1st of August, a District Court denied anticipatory bail to Khedkar after Delhi Police lodged the case against former trainee IAS on a complaint filed by the UPSC. Puja Khedkar is accused of fraudulently availing the reservation of Other Backward Classes and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities to clear the UPSC exam. The UPSC cancelled Khedkar’s selection after she was proven guilty of violating CSE-2022 Rules. The UPSC also permanently debarred her from all future exams.
