Delhi court extends Arvind Kejriwal’s custody in money laundering case till July 12

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday  (extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal until 12th July in connection with the money laundering case related to the now-scrapped Delhi liquor excise policy. The court also reserved its decision on Kejriwal’s application seeking the presence of his wife during medical consultations with a special board constituted by AIIMS. The Court Delhi’s also extended the judicial custody of Delhi’s former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and BRS legislator K Kavitha till July 25 in the same case.

 

In a related development Mr Kejriwal today approached the Delhi High Court seeking bail in the corruption case registered by the CBI in connection with the alleged excise policy scam. The Court will hear the plea on July 5.

 

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener was arrested by the CBI on June 26 from Tihar Jail, where he is still lodged in judicial custody in a connected money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He has already challenged his arrest in the CBI case and the plea is pending before the High Court.
