The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) today directed poll officials to ensure 100 percent distribution of Voter Information Slips (VIS) by the end of this month. The Delhi CEO issued this direction during a high-level meeting on poll preparedness for the Delhi assembly election. It highlighted that poll officials have started reaching out to every household in the district to distribute VIS. These slips provide essential details, including the voter’s name, polling station, and other relevant information, to help locate their polling booths and cast their votes without inconvenience.
During the meeting, a detailed review was taken of law and order involving discussion on the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) along with strategies for managing sensitive zones. Updates on Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations were also provided with efforts to address and resolve such violations. Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation – SVEEP activities were reviewed in detail with Returning Officers presenting their plans for voter awareness.
The Delhi CEO also disclosed that the Municipal Corporation has made significant progress in its defacement removal exercise with the removal of over 13 lakh posters, banners, and hoardings across the city.
