Delegation of Indian CEO forum meets Sri Lanka’s PM Dinesh Gunawardena

A delegation of Indian CEO forum met Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, and discussed strategies to enhance bilateral economic ties, encompassing trade and investments. Mr. Gunawardena acknowledged the growing Government-to-Government development cooperation and expressed gratitude for the efforts of Indian CEOs in stimulating private sector investments from India.

During the meeting, President of the Sri Lanka India Society Kishore Reddy emphasised the vast investment potential in areas such as agriculture, tourism, information technology, renewable energy, and education. He added that having emerged from recent economic challenges and restored stability,  Sri Lanka presents a prime opportunity for foreign direct investment in sectors ranging from automobile accessory manufacturing to dairy industry expansion. Mr. Reddy also extended gratitude to the Sri Lankan Prime Minister for the unwavering support in fostering cooperation between the two nations.

Indian CEOs, drawing on their extensive experience in Sri Lanka, expressed the readiness of Indian entrepreneurs to invest in the country, leveraging its strategic location to cater to the vast Indian market.
