Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who is in Russia, today laid a wreath at the ‘Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’ in Moscow. Mr Singh will also co-chair 21st meeting of India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation with his Russian counterpart Andrey Belousov.
The two leaders will review the entire range of multi-faceted relations between the two countries in the field of defence, including military-to-military and industrial cooperation. They will also exchange views on contemporary regional and global issues of mutual interest.
Yesterday, Indian Navy’s latest stealth missile frigate INS Tushil was commissioned at Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia, in the presence of the Defence Minister. Rajnath Singh described the warship as a proud testament to India’s growing maritime might and a significant milestone in the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
Defence Minister said, Russia’s support to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) campaign reflected the deep bilateral ties between the two countries. Defence Minister is on a 3-day visit to Russia beginning Sunday.
