Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assures country is in safe hands as Nation celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today said that entire country commemorates the sacrifices of the soldiers of Kargil War who laid their lives to safeguard the country.
 
Singh along with Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and tri-service chiefs visited the Kargil War Memorial and paid rich tributes to the heroes of 1999 India-Pakistan war.
 
Mr. Rajnath Singh said that India has great respect for all other countries and also follows norms laid down for international conduct but the country's generosity should not be mistaken as its weakness. He salutes those brave sons, who sacrificed everything for the protection of the motherland put the nation first and did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives for it.
 
Assuring the people that country is in safe hands, Singh said that the brave soldiers protecting the borders of the country have made the entire nation proud from time to time.
 
Meanwhile, Rajnath Singh; Chief of Defence Staff General, Anil Chauhan; Army Chief, General Manoj Pande; LG Ladakh, Dr. B. D. Mishra; Navy Chief, Admiral R Hari Kumar and LAHDC Chief  Executive Councilor, Feroz Ahmad Khan paid their respects at the memorial by laying wreaths. They also visited the tombstones dedicated to the soldiers.
