The Damodar Valley Corporation DVC has decreased the volume of water which is being released from the Durgapur barrage. 1 lakh 15 thousand cusec water is being released from Durgapur barrage from 9 am today. Releasing of water from Panchet dam has also been diminished by the DVC. 59 thousand cusecs of water is being released from there. Meanwhile, many districts of south Bengal have been affected by the release of water from the Durgapur barrage. The rivers are flowing with an increased volume of water due to rain and the release of water from various dams.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee spoke to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren yesterday about the evolving flood situation. She apprised Hemant Soren about the ‘huge release of water from Tenughat’ of Jharkhand. In a social media post, she claimed, that the release of water from Tenughat is creating a flood like situation. Mamata Banerjee has ordered all the district administration of West Bengal to be vigilant about the flood situation and be prepared.
