In Jharkhand, Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar Mandal of the CRPF 193rd Battalion died during medical treatment at a private hospital in Ranchi. Mandal had sustained severe injuries in an IED blast planted by Naxals, which also injured Head Constable Pritam Kumar Dey in the West Singhbhum district. Following the attack, both injured soldiers were airlifted to Ranchi for advanced medical care. The incident occurred during a search operation in the forested and hilly regions of Vangram Marangponga, under the jurisdiction of the Chhota Ghaghara police station.
After the blast, local police and the CRPF team quickly reached the site and evacuated both soldiers from the forest. They were then transported to Ranchi via helicopter. Additionally, Sub-Inspector Subodh Kumar of the CRPF’s 134th Battalion had also been injured in an IED blast in Saranda forest four days ago.
