Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković sacked his health minister, Vili Beros today amid reports in local media that the minister had been arrested and his home raided during a corruption investigation. Several others were also detained on corruption charges by anti-graft authorities. Local media reported that the arrest was connected to an ongoing probe into a scheme involving the procurement of medical equipment. Since taking power in 2016, several ministers from Prime Minister Andrej Plenković’s conservative HDZ party have stepped down amid graft allegations.
