Continuous Rainfall Persists Across Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand, rain continues in various parts of the state.  Akashvani correspondent reportes that about a hundred rural roads in the hilly areas of the state are blocked for traffic due to landslides at various places.
 
Light to moderate rains have been continuing in various parts of the state for the last two days. Traffic is blocked on three state roads, one border road and about a hundred rural roads connecting to villages due to landslides triggered by heavy rain. Efforts are being made to open all the routes. On the other hand, the Gangotri National Highway blocked near Netala and Sainj and the Yamunotri National Highway blocked near Dabarkot in Uttarkashi district have been opened for traffic. Both of the highways were blocked for movement due to heavy landslides early this morning. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain in various parts of the state in the next two days. The department has also issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in some places during this period.
